Kathy (Carey) Dais • • • kathydais@att.net

#2 child (of 8) of Mr Thomas J Carey ( Sophomore Teacher @ Lodi High during our years)

Graduated from St Anne's School after 8 years.
Graduated from Lodi High CLASS OF 69 (barely)
I attended my first High School class function in 1974 ( 5 year reunion)
Never felt like I belonged while in school. An introvert. If you know me, you will know I am exactly the opposite of that now.

Transformation came around age 20 (1970) when I was employed at FM Bank and began to climb the successful ladder.
Married in 1975 to Merlin Dais. Bought our home in Lodi that year also. We are still in it.
Took time off in 1977 with the birth of my first son, Branden. Then quit after the birth of my second son, Dustin in 1980.
Babysat (to keep me busy) 127 children over the next 7 years. Sometimes as many as 31 at a time.
Many of them children of my classmates.

After donating 5 hrs daily to the school, while baby sitting, and working in my kids classes, and Hosting Japanese Exchange students for 5 years, I traveled to Japan to meet the "families" of all the exchange students.
Returned to Lakewood School and proceeded to be employed there for about 10 years.
Active Parent Club president for 6 of those years.
Moved on with my kids to Woodbridge School Parent Club creating a Student Stop (for snacks) with that Parent Club.
Onward to Lodi High where I raised money for the Student Government by creating a Student Store at lunch time.
Ran that venture and interacted with all the students for the next 5 or so years raising a collective $80,000 or so.

Began my current career of bookkeeping in 1996. Gradually took on more clients to my current on again off again 10.
Once again I returned to Japan in 2004 for the wedding of my first (1984) exchange student.
We've welcomed a granddaughter (Tayton) in 1999, a daughter in law (Becca) in 2004,
another granddaughter (Taylor) in 2005 and a third granddaughter (Hannah)in 2007.

While juggling all the activities of life ( and I can juggle) I have also thoroughly enjoyed chairing the Class of '69 reunion committee, since 1994. Every reunion is another labor love by myself and the entire reunion committee.
We hope many many attend and re kindle friendships. ENJOY !

Well, for those of you who remember I was engaged to Dave in high school, we got married, and then divorced after just 1 year of marital bliss. Oh young love, isn't it grand? I married two more times after that, and both of them ended the same. Marriage hasn't worked out too well for me. Some people are cut out for the whole family thing, and some aren't. I think I fall into the latter.

I have worked since graduation, no career, just work. I worked at a variety of jobs: retail sales at Kmart, bookkeeping, sugar bag inspector, Duraflame firelog factory line, big rig truck driver, cocktail waitress, bartended for about 15 years (10 years at Tower Park) and I worked at Gluskin's Photo for 17 years. I did photo restorations for the store and I LOVED it. It's kind of ironic too since I was computer phobic. Photoshop is the best progam ever!! Working on websites is my hobby.

I love my Shih Tzu. I've done the art work on the calendars for the Central California Lab Rescue since 2010 of the dogs that have gotten their forever homes.

I'm retired now, but between photo restoration jobs I get, yardwork, cleaning house, reunion committee, maintaining the Class of '69 website, and trying to keep up on my soap operas, my days are pretty full. They say there's no rest for the wicked. They're right!

Life is good at this point in my life! My retirement goal is to live in Fort Bragg, CA.

My youngest son Joseph, is in the IT Department at American River College and so far has no children. I have been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years and have been with Kaiser Permanente for 22 of those years. During the past 40 years, I raised a family, had a career and traveled extensively in the US and Europe.I plan to do more traveling as time permits.

Here goes, Tomas and I were married 07/15/68 and we are still together.  We have two children one of each.  Our daughter has a son and our son has two daughters.  I have worked  for the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office since 2000 as an Investigative Assistant.  Prior to that I worked for the Lodi Police Dept. for almost 10 years as a Community Service Officer; a Crime Scene Investigator; Fingerprint Examiner and a Certified Crime Analyst and before that I worked for Oakridge Vineyards for 20 years.  At the winery I worked as a Line Operator Mechanic and a Brandy Still Operator.  I was at one time the only female still operator in country.  I don't know if any others have done it since then.  There have been a few other jobs mixed in over the years.
As far as hobbies go I am into rubber stamping, beading and I love to read.  Tomas and I have a motorhome and we take alot of roadtrips.  Working on the reunion has been alot of fun and I am sure we will all have a great time when we return home to EAST CAMPUS for a night of friendship and fun.

Ron Richards • • • •

I been married 35 plus years to Vickie Perman, who is still teaching pre-school all these years, so I’ve always understood while she needed her quiet time at night.

Have two grown children, Ronnie, who lives and works in the Sacramento area as a GIS specialist, and daughter Lindsay and husband Mike who have built a home in Stockton.

In this year of 2009 I’ve experienced all the life cycles ups and downs, as I lost my mom on July 11th,  have been supporting my sister Kathy’s fight with cancer, and my daughter just made us grandparents for the first time, giving birth to TRIPLETS on December 9th. Introducing Sara Hailey at 4 lb. 4 oz., Brooke Lauren at 4 lb. 2 oz., and finally Luke Michael at 3 lb. 9 oz.

I’ve spent 32 plus years in manufacturing, managing everything from fire logs, to printed circuit boards, to high end quality Arts & Crafts Mission Style Furniture, and PVC piping. I’m currently at Tractor Supply Company in Galt, California, and having a blast. No stress, five days a week, 8 to5, and now a weekend fisherman.

Still a local boy getting involved in the community, sitting on LUSD Career Technical Advisory Committee, volunteering for fund raising events for Loel Center and Gardens and Lodi Memorial Hospital Foundation, local wine ambassador, ACS Relay for Life fundraiser, and 21+ gallon blood(platelets) donor for Delta Blood Bank.

Hope everyone enjoys the connection we have established here.

Thanks for being the Best class ever. “69” forever!!

Dave and Kathy (Blehm) Sayler • • • •

I met Dave our freshman year -- we shared a class together -- and our sophomore year he asked if I would go to the first dance of the year with him. We went to the that dance together, and have been a couple ever since. That was in September of 1966 and we have been together now for 42 years! Dave teaches sophomores at Tokay High and warns them to be very careful who they go out with on that big first date.

We attended college together, first at Delta and then Sacramento State. We were married 2 days after I graduated with my teaching credential.
Our two daughters are grown, living in Sacramento, one a cardiac nurse and the other an English teacher. Our oldest daughter Danielle got married this past summer, so maybe there will be grandchildren in our future.

Dave is at Tokay High while I teach Special Education at Dorothy Mahin school. Life has been very easy and good to us and we are extremely grateful and feel very blessed. We still keep in touch with lots of classmates and consider the friendships we made in high school to be precious friendships indeed. We're looking forward to spending an evening at the "East Campus" with all the memories it holds.

I attended Garfield Elementary, Needham, Lodi Senior Elementary, Lodi High and Delta College. I graduated from Delta with my AA.

I work for Dignity Health (St. Joseph’s Medical Center) as a medical transcriptionist. I have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. I have been married once and divorced once.

I am a member of the Woman’s Club of Lodi, Lodi Italian Club, a Bunco group, and I am on the board of my condo association.

I am working on my bucket list. I am looking forward to traveling, new adventures, meeting new people and staying active.

I had a wonderful time being a part of the reunion committee. The committee is actually a well-run machine and I know “Kathy” had to dream up jobs for me. I plan on never missing another reunion.
